The Halifax Boys Honour Choir is proud of the excellent reputation it has developed as a first class performance choir and a choir that maintains a high standard in music education.
In the interest of maintaining the reputation we have come to enjoy, and in fairness to all members, staff and parents of the Halifax Boys Honour Choir, the following guidelines must apply:
- ALL rehearsal’s and performances are mandatory: Exceptions to this rule are made only for illness or family emergency. All other exceptions will be at the discretion of the choir Director, with plenty of notice.
- Absence due to illness: If a member is going to be absent due to illness, parents are requested to notify the Music Centre office no later than 3:00pm on the day of rehearsal. If there is no answer, please leave a message in voice mail box. (Generally, it is expected that a member who was able to attend school, would be able to attend rehearsal on that day).
- Punctuality: Rehearsals begin at 4:00pm sharp, therefore; ALL members are asked to be in their seats, and ready to begin rehearsal by 3:55 P.M.
- Disrespect: Disrespect for the Director, Accompanist or other choir members, is not acceptable. Any such situation will result in dismissal from the choir.
- “Notice Binder” Responsibility: The HBHC “notice binder” is a means of effective communication. It is the responsibility of each member to bring his notice binder with him to every rehearsal and to ensure all notices are reviewed by their parents each week.
